Western Stima FC fires all players
Betking Premier League side (BPL) Western Stima is set to fire all the 28 players after match fixing allegations linked to the club.
The club chairman Laban Jobita says he will utilize the transfer window to do a cleanup at the team. Jobita said he was targeting at least 23 new players to replace those who will be axed.

“The investigations on match fixing have implicated very many players at the club and from other teams in Nairobi. We are in the process of doing a cleanup exercise and firing the entire squad before the end of the transfer window. I have to get new 23 players to steer the team in the league,” said the football administrator.
This comes at a time when a Ugandan national Ronald Niwagira was arrested in Kisumu for trying to influence a match. Niwagira is said to have tried to influence the match between KCB and Western Stima.
On the said date, Mr. Niwagira met Jobita in a Kisumu hotel and asked his team to lose the match to KCB in exchange of Ksh 550,000. Jobita asked for more time to consult his players but returned with police officers who arrested the Ugandan.
Jobita has promised to drop the case against the players but vowed not tolerate the vice at his club.
