Well done Son: Tottenham and Liverpool take first leg advantage
Son Heung-min could be the only person at Tottenham who doesn’t miss Harry Kane.
In January through February when Kane was on injury, Son scored four goals from as many games. When Kane got back, he only scored one goal from seven games. Yesterday, it took Kane to go out for Son to have the ball at the back of the net. What a statistic.
Son Heung-min found the winner on the 77th minute. Sergio Aguero missed a VAR awarded penalty on the 13th minute to deny Manchester City the lead at that point and an away goal.
Liverpool vs Porto
On the other hand, Liverpool took a 2-0 lead against Porto at Anfield, a game that saw Naby Keita on the 5th minute and Robert Firmino on the 26th minute.
At first, it seemed that it would have a worst scoreline than the 5-0 at the knock-out stages last season but Porto redeemed themselves to keep the tie alive.
Going into the return leg, Liverpool have some work to do to avoid any nervy endings.
