Villagers interrupt burial, wants relatives of the deceased traced

An 89 year old man burial did not go as planned after residents of Thidhna village in Suna East, Migori County, interrupted his burial demanding his relatives to be traced.

The deceased James Otieno Onino is said to have come to Thidhna village many years back as a herds man but was accommodated as one of them.

Villagers accused village elders of obtaining burial permit to lay off Mr. Onino without consulting his relatives.

Area Chief Daniel Matolo, who spoke to Citizen TV denied the claims by residents that he had issued out a burial permit for the deceased.

He said plans are under away to notify the bereaved family and he has information that they reside in Siaya County.
