Vihiga county to spend Ksh 135 million on governor’s official residence
The county government of Vihiga has set a side Ksh 135 million for the construction of governor’s official residence.
The project that was launched by Vihiga Governor Wilbur Ottichilo, will see Ksh 80 million set aside for governors house and Ksh 55 million for his deputy.
The governor’s official residence will be built on a two-acre land valued at about KSh 23 million in Sabatia, whereas his deputy’s house will be constructed in Chavakali.
During the ground breaking ceremony Otticholo urged the contractors on site to move with speed and complete the building before June 30 2019.
This comes at a time when the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has issued a circular to all governors of terminating their house allowance from 1st July.
