Uhuru’s take on DP Ruto as he faced Mt. Kenya leaders
President Uhuru Kenyatta, addressing Mt. Kenya politicians at the Sagana, told them to stop reminding him of a pledge made to support Deputy President (DP) William Ruto come 2022.
Politicians who are inclined to DP Ruto, popularly known as TangaTanga have been pushing for the President to publicly declare his support for Ruto in his 2022 Presidential bid desire.

On his end, Uhuru stated that he has never said whether he will endorse or oppose Dr. Ruto come 2022. He also stated that his political truce with Opposition Leader, Raila Odinga, should not be seen as an endorsement.
The President reminded the politicians to stop speculating on the BBI report’s content and recommendations but rather wait for its release. He stated that he too didn’t know what it contains.
However he stated that he hopes the report will address issues on inclusivity so as to stop political violence.
