Uhuru has neglected Western Region-Khalwale

Former Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale has cried foul for what he has termed as President Uhuru Kenyatta neglecting Western Region.

The Bullfighter while addressing journalists at Nabongo Grounds, said the President should come to the rescue of sugarcane farmers in the region the same way he has done to milk farmers.

President Kenyatta while addressing the nation on Tuesday from State House, Mombasa, he directed Treasury to release Sh500 million to the new KCC.The president said, the money will be used to purchase excess milk from farmers and convert it into powder.

He further directed the National Treasury to release Sh575 million to new KCC for the two milk plants located in the Mt Kenya region.

“I have directed the National Treasury to release a further Sh575 million to New KCC for two milk plants, one in Nyeri and one in Nyahururu, to enhance their processing capacity,” Uhuru said.

The vocal leader said Nyanza region has received Ksh 3 billin to modernize the Kisumu Port but the Western region continues to be the neglected.

“Isitoshe president Wameeenda na Raila hadi Kisumu akawapatia Sh 3billion wanafanya modernization of Kisumu Port. Kwa hivyo sisi tukinyamaza tusipoinua sauti yetu hakuna vile Rais atajua.” he said.
