Ten buffaloes dies in Nakuru National Park

Ten buffaloes were on Sunday confirmed death at the Lake Nakuru National Park.

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) spokesperson Paul Gathitu who confirmed the incident liked the deaths to the anthranx outbraek reported at the park.

Mr. Gathitu noted that veteran doctors have been send to the park and the situation is under control.

“We have taken surveillance action and everything now is under control as our veterinary doctors are on the ground vaccinating the buffaloes and monitoring the situation,” Mr. Githitu told Nation.

The anthrax outbreak at the park have been attributed by prolonged drought witnessed in different part of the countries. Gathitu observed that during such period diseases tend to spread faster.

“During such prolonged drought, the disease tend to manifest itself very fast and this is one of the reason we suspect is the cause of the disease,” Mr. Gathitu added.
