It is reported that the students began pelting stones at the 3 journalists following incitements from their principal.

It is alleged that the principal refused to be interviewed by the journalists before having the girls beat up the KTN journalists.

The Standard Group Media vehicle was burnt and camera destroyed as the journalists ran away with visible injuries.

David Omwoyo, Media Council of Kenya (MCK) CEO condemned the incidence and asked the police to move with speed to arrest and charge the perpetrators.

While it is within the right of the school leadership to decline media interviews, it is against the law for anyone to incite and attack journalists who were in their line of duty. We urge the police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate incident and bring the culprits to book,” read Omwoyo’s statement to the press.
