Student turned away by Starehe Boys, admitted at Mang’u High
Jack Mutuma Mbabu, the student who scored 417 marks at KCPE level but had been denied admission to Starehe Boys Centre, has now been admitted at Mang’u High school.
Starehe Boys had alleged that the boy’s father had been rude and failed to comply to all the admission requirements.
The government had to step in so as to help the boy gain admission.
Education CS Amina Abdallah stated, “That issue has been resolved and the student who was going to Starehe has been posted to Mang’u.”
Josephat Mwaura, the acting Centre Director, in an interview with Citizen TV stated that the boy was not from a needy family and also that he had not been selected to join Starehe Boys.
The boy’s parent on their end stated that they had received an admission letter and that the boy’s name was listed in NEMIS (National Education Management Information System) as being allocated to Starehe Boys.
