Sportpesa super-cup a Kenyan affair
Sportpesa supercup finals will be a Kenyan affair between Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari FC in a game that will be played in Tanzania.
Bandari FC was the first team to book a final slot after going through past Tanzania giant Simba FC with 2-1 win. Former Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere scored for Simba on first half before William Wadri equalized the scores in the second half from the penalty spot .
Wilberforce Lugogo ensured the dockers gain maximum points and also book a slot in the finals against other Kenyan guest Kariobangi Sharks after scoring the winning goal.
Kariobangi Sharks qualified for the finals after edging out Tanzanian side Mbao FC 6-5 on post match penalties in the second semi final following after the matcch witnessed a barren draw of 0 – 0 .
For the second time in the SportPesa Cup’s three year history, the final will be contested by two Kenyan sides after Kenya’s football giants Gor Mahia doing the same in the last two tournaments.
Sportpesa Super Cup defending champions Gor Mahia were knocked out of Tournament by Tanzania side FC while AFC Leopards were edged out by Simba FC on the first game of the tourbnament.
