Sossion opens up on his deregisitration as a teacher

Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary-General Wilson Sossion, on Saturday maintained he is still the union boss despite the court ruling.

Mr. Sossion who wasspeaking for the first time said the matter that was before court was over his employment contract and not his registration as a teacher.

The tough talking trade unionist said many teachers have resigned or retired from the TSC but mantains to be the members of their respective unions.

“Many teachers in elective union positions have terminated their employment with TSC by resigning or retiring but continue to retain union offices.” read the statement in part.

Sossion also disclosed that he is still a registered TSC faulting the commission for not removing him to the register as they do to other members seeking elective positions.

“I am in the list as a registered teacher. TSC merely terminated my employment with them as they do to anyone seeking elective public positions,” Mr Sossion said in a statement.

Court Order

On Friday Employment and Labour Court Judge Nelson Abuodha, gave TSC a go ahead to remove Sossion from their register as a teacher.
