Sony Sugar fails to honor fixture for the second time in a row
Kenya Premier League side Sony Sugar, for the second time have failed to show up for their KPL match against Tusker FC.
The Millers who also failed to show up for their match pitting AFC Leopards in Awendo were nowhere to be seen this weekend.
The Robert Matano coached side arrived at Machakos Stadium for the match which was scheduled for 10 am but their opponents did not turn up.

The financially struggling Sony FC had signed a KSh34 million sponsorship deal with a Hong Kong-based IT firm, Quantdragon Limited, but no single cent has been deposited in their account.
However the 2019/20 KPL season will continue as scheduled, this is after the Governing Council earlier this week has ruled that the fixtures will continue despite the hard financial times.
“KPL Governing Council resolved that the 2019-20 season shall proceed as scheduled and that clubs must abide by the Rules Governing Kenyan Football. The decision was reached amidst calls to suspend the league while acknowledging that there is a financial crisis in the league and clubs after the withdrawal of its main sponsor,” KPL said in a statement.
Football stakeholders should brace themselves for similar scenarios since many teams are facing similar challenges.
