Sofapaka goalkeeper Ndikumana named KPL player of the month

Sofapaka goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana has been named Kenya Premier League player of the month.

The onform Burundi international kept three clean sheets for the Batoto Ba Mungu and saved one penalty.

Speaking after receiving the award Ndikumana, he thanked God for the award and also attributed his success to hardwork.

“I have been praying that I become the winner this month because I played well and everybody was talking about me. I’m glad I caught the panel’s eyes and so I can look forward to better days,” said Ndikumana.

The goalkeeper also disclosed that such awards boost the morale of the team and Sofapaka is now ready to face any team.

“Such awards boost my confidence and the team at large. I want to thank the entire squad, not just the defense that helped me keep the clean sheets. I feel like I can face any opponent and stand tall in goal and prevent them from scoring,” he added.

Ndikumana emerged the winner after  beating other nominees Bethwel Warambo, Enosh Ochieng and Eric Kapaito to the award.

The award means Sofapaka have swept all the awards for the month of March after their Head Coach won the Coach of the month.
