Senator Murkomen to represent ODM rebels, MPs Jumwa and Dori
For those who have been doubting if Senator Murkomen can make a representation in court, here the chance comes.
Elgeyo Markwet Senator Murkomen will represent MPs Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori over their expulsion from ODM party.
The two MPs had been expelled on the grounds that they are supporting a Presidential hopeful from a different political party other than their party of election, ODM.
According to the two rebel MPs, they argue that their support to DP William Ruto’s presidential ambition is in line with the ‘handshake’ brought about by their party leader Raila Odinga.
Further to the above, their lawyer’s argues “An allegation that the Hon Members supported a ‘presidential candidate’ other than ODM party presidential candidate is baseless and outrageous. No party has nominated such a candidate as at the time of the alleged utterances or even now for the future elections. That nomination is yet to come.”
They further state that neither the Disciplinary Committee nor National Executive Council of ODM had been properly constituted.
The two want a proper chance to defend themselves before the National Governing Council.
