Ruto urge churches to join SACCOS

Deputy President William Ruto has urged churches to join Savings and Credit Co- Operatives (SACCOs) in a bid to improve their economic status.

Speaking at his Karen residence where he hosted African Divine Church (ADC) for a prayer service and launch of African Divine Clergy SACCO, DP said the government is focused to support co-operative societies in the country.

Ruto challenged the clergy to join SACCO that will help them raise and mobilize resources for development of churches.

“SACCOs in Kenya have raised Ksh.500 billion and we want you as the Divine church to join in the mobilization of local resources through SACCOs so that we can fund our development.”

“We know as members of the clergy you do not get enough money like other Kenyans. To help you, you should come up with a program of raising funds and later take loans when in need,” said Ruto.

Despite criticism from his political competitors Ruto has continued to support churches financially.
