Return of fake gold: Tycoon arrested in Kilimani

Detectives from DCI on Thursday arrested businessman Stephen Mark Oduk in connection with 147 bars of fake gold.

In an early morning raid in Plan 254 Club in Kilimani, police were able to seize Ksh100 million in fake dollars.

Fake Gold

In May 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a crackdown on gold scammers after the ruler of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum complained to him that his gold had been seized at JKIA.

After a thorough operation by detectives tens of suspects were nabbed in connection to an empire of con men that was defrauding dozens of unsuspecting foreigners in Nairobi.

Stephen Mark is the owner of Club Plan 254 in Kilimani where the fake gold and currency has been found.
