Police intercepts bhang worth Ksh 6 million in Samburu

Police on Saturday intercepted bhang worth Ksh 6 million to unknown destination.

Samburu County Police Commander Karanja Miruri who confirmed the incident said 113 bale of marijuana was being ferried in two vehicles before police intercepted.

“We have three suspects including a woman in the police station, currently officers from the DCI are steering investigations as it seems there is a big chain of people in this illicit business,” Mr Muiruri told journalists outside Maralal Police Station.

The police were able to arrest the suspect after a tip off from the members of the public. It said that the car transporting marijuana broke down in the area where they asked a villager for assistance,

It is when suspicious stuff were observed in the vehicle and police were alerted. Police laid a trap for the suspects and were arrested on Saturday morning.

This comes days after police nabbed Marijuana worth of millions parked in a fuel tanker in Kasarani.
