Oparanya elected CoG Chairperson

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya was today elected Council of Governors chairperson.

Oparanya won the hotly contested position after defeating Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga County), Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu County), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu County), Salim Mvurya (Kwale County) and Josphat Nanok (Turkana).

Oparanya will now take over from his Turkan counterpart Josphat Nanok who was seeking his second term as the chair.

Oparanya is serving his second term as the Kakamega county boss under ODM ticket and he has a remarkable development achievement.

ODM through its official twitter account congratulated Oparanya for his appointment.

Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria will now take over as the CoG Vice Chair from Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru.
