One suspect in Caroline Mwatha’s case has a criminal record
Following the murder of human rights activist, Caroline Mwatha, six suspects have been arrested and are being detained by the police.
One of the suspect (Ms Betty Akinyi Nyanya, alias Betty Ramoya), has come to be identified as having served a jail term in 2005 for child trafficking syndicate.
This was inline with Ms Mary Deya, wife to Bishop Gilbert Deya, in the scandal of ‘miracle babies’ that were allegedly stolen from their parents and handed to infertile women.
Bishop Deya still has a case in Kenyan courts regarding child trafficking.
At that time, Betty Akinyi pleaded guilty and was convicted. She served at the Lang’ata Women Prison.
Betty is the owner of the clinic that is alleged was used for the botched abortion on Caroline Mwatha.
