Jumwa and Dori

ODM shall expel rebel MPs

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, has moved to clarify that MPs Aisha Jumwa and Suleiman Dori shall in deed be expelled by the party for their gross misconduct.

The MPs have been accused of going against the party by publicly supporting the 2022 Presidential bid of Deputy President William Ruto who belongs to Jubilee Party.

The MPs on the other hand argued that in the spirit of the ‘handshake’ between their party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Building Bridges initiative, they opted to reach out to Deputy President.

ODM however is of the mindset that the handshake is aimed at uniting the nation and not merging political parties.

Edwin Sifuna confirmed that ODM will hold National Governing Council meeting to ractify the National Executive Council’s decision to expel the rebel MPs.
