ODM officially expels ‘rebel’ Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s National Governing Coincil (NGC) has on this day adopted the recommendation of the National Executive Council (NEC) by officially expelling MP Aisha Jumwa from the party.

Her troubles began when she openly stated her support for Deputy President and Jubilee Party’s William Ruto’s presidential ambitions of 2022.

MP Jumwa was of the argument that her actions were in line with the ‘Building Bridges Initiative’ which has been championed since the handshake between ODM Leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Her counterpart, MP Suleiman Dori has survived the expulsion after an apology.

The party says that MP Dori’s case has been deferred ‘following his letter of apology to the Secretary General Edwin Sifuna in which he apologised to the party for his rebellion’.

A special NGC will thus be held in the next 60 days to allow MP Dori present his case.
