Odeon Stage bomb blast suspect arrested

A suspect in connection to Odeon bus stage blast of 26th January 2019 has been arrested.

The suspect, Mohammed Nurrow Mohammed, was arrested in Moyale at the Kenya-Ethiopia border on 22nd February.

This was after an intelligence pinpointed to the suspect having been hiding there. He was however transferred to Nairobi and arraigned in court on Monday where police were allowed to detain him for 3 more days.

“Intelligence reports show that he has other associates who assisted him in planning and executing the explosion,” the court was told.

In the blast at Odeon stage, a middle-aged man had sorted help from a cart-puller to transport a package for him. On the way, he paid the cart-puller Kes 100 while he stated that he had forgotten his identity (ID) card in a shop. He thus instructed the cart-puller to head on towards Kenya Cinema as he goes for his ID card and he will catch up him.

A number of other suspects have also been arrested since then.
