Obado denies owning properties being targeted by asset recovery

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has denied reports circulating around that he owns property being targeted by state in asset recovery.

Speaking to Standard Digital, Obado blamed his political opponents for using Media to paint him corrupt.

“There is a well-choreographed attempt to paint me dark more so at this time when we had some small problems in court,” he said.

The county boss challenged journalist to verify information before publishing since the owners of the said property are well known.

“The mere fact that a property is near my home does not make it mine, there are other Kenyans who are also acquiring properties,” noted Obado

Using example of Rapogi Lwanda Complexsaying Obado said that it belonged to a known family and it is unfair for media houses to say the property belongs to him.

Other property linked to Obado includes four-story building at Namba Junction, Fairview Hotel among others.
