Nick Mwendwa on receiving end for Harambee Starlets woes
Kenyans on Tuesday took to Twitter to vent their anger on how Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president, Nick Mwendwa leadership style.
Mwendwa who was once a darling to many football fans when he took office, has turned out to be like or even worse than his predecessor at FKF.
The vocal president brushed shoulders with football lovers when he disbanded starlets camp who are two steps away from qualifying for the Olympics for the first time ever citing financial challenges.
“FKF has diligently communicated to the Sports Ministry and the Sports Fund to come in and fund the national teams. We have, however, not received any response from the Ministry, which is frustrating,”
“We are calling out on the Ministry to come out with reasons why we cannot get funding from the Sports Fund despite having made numerous requests for the same,” he added.
However netizens couldn’t buy Mwendwa idea accusing him of mismanaging FKF and being behind the woes facing Kenyan football.
Kenyan Premier League is also at stake, two teams have already failed to honour their fixture due to financial constraints.
Here are fans comments:
Nick Mwendwa is the kind of student who will COPY PASTE everything right from a book in an exam room ; and when the exams are released he gets a F for FAIL!
Biggie@Just_Njenga·57mAny Federation granted funds by a corporate or the gvt should account for the funds. Now, Nick Mwendwa & Co. Don’t want to account for AFCON money yet they want to use #HarambeeStarlets as Collateral? No!
