New Nairobi County Executive Committee to be vetted

Nairobi County Assembly has finally set a date to vet nominated County Executive Committee nominees proposed by Governor Mike Sonko.

The City County will vet the nominees on March 11 by the appointment committee at the county headquarters.

The Assembly through its Clerk Jacob Ngwele on notice to the local dailies said that nominees will be vetted on March to fill the vacant position. 

Nairobi Assembly Clerk Jacob Ngwele, in a notice published in local dailies on Monday, stated that the five will appear before the County Assembly’s Committee on Appointments on March 11 for purposes of vetting.

The nominees include Ms Lucia Mulwa,Pauline Kahiga-Waititu,Winfred Gahanna, Sanjeev Sonia Birdi and Dr Stella Boise.

The position were left vacant after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko fired the CEC for either being involved in corruption or under performance. 

If vetted and confirmed they are expected to help the Governor in administration duties in their specialize field. Mike Sonko Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe and he is yet to replace him over one year now.
