National anthem made me lose my dream job
Most job seekers goes an extra mile preparing hard and smart when invited for job interviews forgetting to rehearse on National Anthem.
There are common interview questions found online that interviewees goes through not forgetting doing background search of the organisation.
Last week I was invited for an interview for one of the prestigious IT consultant company in the city.
I was too excited being sure that I will be working for my dream company and at the same time drooling about the big salary that comes with the job.

On the due day I walked into the interview room despising other interviewees because of the experience I had and enough preparation I had done.
The interview went on well, until one of the panelist asked me to sing the national anthem. I sung our beautiful national anthem with a lot of courage.
When the lines were displayed on the projector, it rang into my mind that some lines on the National Anthem I had replaced them with my own words.
That’s how my dream job was costed. Here are the three stanzas of the National Anthem:
Ee Mungu nguvu yetu
Kenya National Anthem
Ilete baraka kwetu
Haki iwe ngao na mlinzi
Natukae na undugu
Amani na uhuru
Raha tupate na ustawi
Amkeni ndugu zetu
Tufanye sote bidii
Nasi tujitoe kwa nguvu
Nchi yetu ya Kenya
Tuwe tayari kuilinda
Natujenge taifa letu
Ee, ndio wajibu wetu
Kenya istahili heshima
Kila siku tuwe na shukrani
Most Kenyans last sang the National Anthem back in high school, at the moment it is only a few percentage that can sing the anthem perfectly.
I urge Kenyans to always sing this beautiful song as a sign of patriotism to our country.
