Nakuru mother who rejected President’s house loses to another family

Nakuru North deputy county commissioner, Mutua Kisilu , was instructed to give the Nakuru house to another needy family. The new resident was thus identified and the house handed over to him.
It is said that the new resident had been living in a makeshift house provided by the church in Bahati area.
The original recipient was to be awarded after her son, Dennis Ngaruiya, pleased the President in 2014 with a wonderful poem during the Kenya Defence Forces Day celebration. However, the mother termed the house as a ‘big joke’.
“This is a big joke. Look at this house. It has cracks on the outside and looks like a semi-permanent house while President Kenyatta in his wisdom meant well for us as a family,” she said.
According to Wambui, she states that the person whom the President had instructed to ensure that she gets a decent house, played tricks on her and wanted to offer her a raw deal.
