Nairobi County billboards scandal

The County of Nairobi loses at least 15 million shillings every month from outdoor advertising companies.

It has emerged that 85 percent of outdoor advertising companies in Nairobi County have failed to comply to the county laws.

Nairobi County Lands and Urban Planning Executive Charles Kerich said that only about 15 per cent of the advertising  companies have  complied with the Nairobi City County Outdoor Advertising Act, 2018.

Speaking during the operation to pull down illegally erected billboards within the city, Mr. Kerich said that the advertising company will now have to follow the full process of the law before erecting billboards.
