MPs want all JKIA takeover plans suspended
Public Investments Committee has stopped any transaction regarding the transfer of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by Kenya Airways management.
The Nassir Abdullswamad led committee stopped the transaction over suspected malicious motive behind the business.
It was revealed during the seating that the plan to take over the management at the airport were crafted by top government officials.
Speaking before the committee Nandi member of Parliament linked the takeover at the country’s biggest airport to the family of President Kenyatta.
The committee recommend that Parliament offers an injunction to stop Kenya Airport Authority (KAA) from transacting any business until the investigation is complete and matter solved.
The Committee has further directed the Kenya Airports Authority to recoup some 15 million shillings paid to MMC Africa, a transaction advisor contracted to provide counsel in the Kenya Airways takeover of the Kenya’s gateway.
