More Kenyans push for Marijuana to be legalized

Former Kibra Member of Parliament the late Ken Okoth will be remembered for his push to have marijuana legalized in Kenya.

The youthful MP had written to the speaker of National Assembly Justin Muturi a petition to have marijuana legalized. The late Okoth argued through the petition that the bill will regulate safe growth and use of marijuana as it is done in tobacco industry.

During his succession politics Jubilee aspirant McDonald Mariga, promised the residents of Kibra he will push for legalization of bhang if elected.

The politician cum footballer told the crowd that bhang can be used for medicinal purpose. Though many believed that Mariga had borrowed a leaf from Okoth but it was the beginning of the discussion on legalization of the “holy herbs”.

Activist Boniface Mwangi is the latest public figure to speak about legalization of Marijuana. He posits that medicinal marijuana has a bigger market compared to floriculture business.

Kenyan celebrated rapper Octopizzo has also vowed to advocate for legalization of weed. He says he will include Marijuana in his lyrics till the day it will be legalized.

“From Now hence forth every song will have a weed aka marijuana Line till the day it’s gonna be legalized.” Said Octopizzo.
