Mathira parliamentary aspirant handed civil jail

Mathira Member of Parliament aspirant Michael Gichuru has been handed 30 days in civil jail.

This is after he failed to raise Ksh 9.5 million fine after unsuccessfully petitioning against the current Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua election victory of 2017.

Mr. Gichuru had challenged the election of Gachagua saying it had massive irregularities and illegalities.

Justice Jairus Ng’aa ruled in Gachagua favour saying that the election was conducted in full accordance of the law.

Court documents documents indicates that , Gichuru did not obey the decree nor satisfy the court that he is entitled to be discharged from custody.
