Man stabs friend over KSH 10 debt in Kakamega

A man in Shianda village, in Kakamega County is in police custody for allegedly stabbing a friend over a Sh10 debt.

It is reported that the man stabbed Isaac Bonge, a Form One student at Ivakale secondary school in the stomach for failing to settle the debt.

According to the victim mother Edith Musungu her son went to collect the money his childhood friend owned him ,but she was surprised to learn that her son was later stabbed.

“I was called by neighbors who asked me to rush to scene. When I arrived, I found my son lying in a pool of blood with his bowels pouring out. We rushed him to Malava sub-county hospital but he was transferred to the county teaching and referral hospital because his condition was worsening,” said Mrs Musungu.

Kakamega County police commander Wilkister Vera who confirmed the incident said that the suspect is being held at Kabras Police station.

The victim is admitted at Kakamega General Hospital.
