Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa denies having been arrested, then she gets arrested

Malindi Member of Parliament (MP) Aisha Jumwa has refuted claims going round social media that she has been arrested. This is following a shooting incidence on Tuesday 15th October that left one dead.

It is said that MP Jumwa was involved in the scuffle with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party supporters in Ganda Ward, Malindi Constituency, Kilifi County where a by-election is due.

The incidence happened at the home of Reuben Katana who is eyeing the post in an ODM ticket. He was meeting his agents and plan for the big day that is due tomorrow, 17th October.

It is claimed that Jumwa and her team then stormed his home leading to the scuffle.

Later on in the evening on Tuesday, reports emerged claiming that the lawmaker had been arrested. However, she has come out to refute the claims.

She further denied being involved in the death of Gumbao Jola, who was shot during the melee, and she is calling on investigative agents to come out and do their work.

However, through her Twitter handle, she has posted another tweet indicating that she indeed has been arrested and being taken to an unknown location
