Aircraft crash-land in Kajiado
A light aircraft with 3 tourists on board on Thursday morning crash-land at Mashuru area of Kajiado County.
According to reports the plane was destined for Amboseli National Park. The pilot and passengers survive with minor bruises.
The aircraft, belonging to Yellow Wings Air Services Limited, was being flown by Peter Almendinger. The tourists were identified as Russell, Paris and Susan.
Confirming the incident, Mashuru Sub-County Deputy Commander Stephen Nyakundi said the passengers and the pilot were in high spirits.
Kenya Civil Society Aviation Authority (KCAA) has since established that the aircraft had an engine fault.
“Kenya Civil Society Aviation Authority (KCAA) wishes to confirm that an aircraft operated by Yellow Wings, registration number 5Y-CHR suffered an accident. The aircraft which departed today from Wilson Airport at 7:20am destined for Selenkay in Amboseli had an engine fault and made a forced landing in the Konza area of Kajiado East sub-county at 7:45am,” KCAA said in a statement.
