By the time advance scans were done to him, it was found that he is suffering from cancer and already it is at level 4. To him and his family, it was shocking news, he admits. However, he says he has found support from his family and close friends.

Due to the high cost of treating cancer, the MP suggests that the cancer medication (imported drugs) should never be taxed.
He further calls for education to the masses on avoiding lifestyle that leads to cancer such as smoking, alcoholism, need for proper diet. Furthermore, he calls for continuous and regular tests by individuals.
