Kenyan musician blocked from TV interview for inappropriate dressing

Mistony, UK based Kenyan musician was denied access to a local TV station for having been inappropriately dressed.

She TOLD Edaily that she was asked by the security at the TV station to either tie a leso or to go away, and she chose the later.

“I was well dressed, and I think it is time we start embracing modern culture. Above all, I am an artist; and media houses know that better. I felt humiliated,” she said.

It is just a week ago when musician Akothee caused online storm by her antics at a performance in Malindi that had critics and fans pull opposing reactions.

“There was a time we were at the TV station for an interview, and they did not mention anything to do with attire. So, why introduce a dress-code now?” posed Refigah, CEO of Grandpa Records who had accompanied Mistony.
