Kenneth Muguna threatens to quit Gor Mahia over nonpaymet
Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna has threatened to quit the club after tabling his release letter to the club.
Muguna’s agent, Ango Elite Soccer agency has confirmed to have written to Kenya Premier League (KPL) defending champions demanding the release letter of their client over nonpayments.
In the letter to the club, the agency has claimed that their client has gone for more than 3 months without pay.
“Ango Elite Soccer the company that agencies and represents the athlete Kenneth Mugambi Muguna, comes in this way, to communicate the end of his contract with club Gor Mahia, because he is more than three months without salary,” the letter states in part.
Also K’Ogalo defender Maurice Ojwang’ has threatened to quit the club due to nonpayment, and he gave the club a 15-day notice.
Since SportPesa closed shop, Gor Mahia are in a bad financial situation as they were their main sponsors. However, according to sources, Gor Mahia could land a sponsor by Monday in a deal worth Ksh 30million.
Kenneth Muguna dropped as captain
Defender Haron Shakava has been named the new team Captain taking over from midfielder Kenneth Muguna.
This has been confirmed by club Chairman Ambrose Rachier.
‘’Our new Captain is Harun Shakava with effect from today…. He will be assisted by Philemon Otieno,’’ Chairman Rachier said.
Shakava rejoined the club from Nkana of Zambia and was an integral part of Gor Mahia before he left the club as a Captain and this appointment will mark his second time being the captain.
