Justice Ibrahim was bribed in Wajir Governor’s case – Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi
Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has alluded that Supreme Court Judge, Justice Ibrahim Mohamed was bribed in the just concluded petition against Wajir Governor, Mohammed Abdi.
The lawyer went ahead to state that he is well informed that the judges had tied at 3:3 which would mean the governor’s election would have been nullified
The lawyer states that the judge received the bribe through a member of parliament and that on Monday he shall take it up by writing to the Chief Justice on the same.
Justices Mohammed Ibrahim, Jackton Ojwang, Njoki Ndungu and Smokin Wanjala overturned the ruling of the Appeal Court that nullified the Wajir Governor’s victory.
On the other hand, Chief Justice David Maraga and Justice Isaac Lenaola dissented on the ruling affirming that they ‘agree with the issue that a degree is a pre-requisite for one to view for governor seat.”
After the August 08th 2017 General Election, Ahmed Abdullahi, the opponent to governor Mohammed Abdi, took to courts to challenge his election on grounds of massive malpractice and that he had not been cleared to vie for the gubernatorial seat.
