Iran retaliates to Kenya sentencing its citizen for 15 years

The highest court on the land, Supreme Court, last week sentenced two Iranians to 15 years in prison over terror charges.

It is said that Iran’s Foreign Ministry has officially complained to the Kenyan ambassador in Tehrar. It is said that Ambassador Rukia Ahmed was summoned on Saturday over the same.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson is quoted as saying that the Islamic Republic has expressed its “dissatisfaction” on the “unfair” ruling on its two citizens and that they have recalled their envoy in Kenya for consultations.

Last week on Friday, the Supreme Court overturned a ruling by the Court of Appeal that had acquitted the two Iranians. It thus found them guilty of three terror rrlated charges and sentenced them to 15 years in prison.
