Huddah speaks on why educated Kenyans are joining Al-shabaab
Kenyan socialite and business lady Huddah Monroe recently spoke on Kenyan graduates joining Al-shabaab, a Somalia terror group.
The socialite through her Instagram page attributed poverty and lack of employment, suffering and being neglected as the reason as to why fresh graduates are being recruited into the militia group.
“When they ask why young graduates are joining terror groups like Al-shabaab I laugh. Reality is, its because the youths in Kenya are suffering. They are neglected and that’s the only route left for most,” she posted.
Al-Shabaab attacked Dusit D2 hotel in Riverside Nairobi a few weeks ago. Violet Kemunto a Journalism graduate from Masinde Muliro University was among the master minds behind the attack.
In 2015 Abdirahim Abdullahi, a law graduate from the University of Nairobi was also among the attackers who raided Garissa University that left over 100 students dead.

The boss lady also blamed the government over high taxation and unfavorable business environment for young entrepreneurs in the country.
“Doing business in Kenya is the hardest thing you can ever experience. First, the tax is outrageously high. Second, they don’t make it a smooth road for young business entrepreneurs. You want(us) to start whoring for a living, join Al-shabaab or?” She asked.
According to statistics unemployment rate in Kenya stands at 12.20 percent the highest record ever.
