Harambee stars players on Thursday were persuaded to board Ethiopia Airlines on their way to Accra, Ghana.
A source close to the team who spoke to NairobiNews revealed that a number of players had to be begged to board the Ethiopia Airlines.
The source noted that two senior players in the team approached the Federation to ask if they could shift to another airline.
“Two senior players asked the federation to change the airline but it wasn’t possible. It was late and there were no finances. Ethiopian Airlines provide the cheapest option by the way,” said the source.
Harambee Stars who have already qualified for 2019 Africa Nations Cup will on Saturday face Ghana’s Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
