Governors Martin Wambora and John Nyagarama survive election petition
The proverbial seven lives of Governor Martin Wambora still continue as the Supreme Court has dismissed the petition challenging his election. The judges ruled that Mr Wambora’s rival did not raise issues on the interpretation or application of the Constitution in his petition.
Nyamira’s Governor John Nyagarama has also survived the same scare. The judges ruled Mr Nyagarama was validly elected.
Kabuchai MP James Mukwe has had the Supreme Court overturn a ruling by the Court of Appeal which had nullified his election. The Supreme Court stated that the petition had been filed at the Court of Appeal outside the set time span of filing petitions.
