Government to the rescue of Gor Mahia
Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have had the government come to their rescue regarding their travel expenses to Angola to play Petro Atletico.
Earlier own, through their chairman, Ambrose Rachier, K’Ogalo expressed that they are not able to honour their CAF away fixture due to financial constraints.
“It’s with great pleasure today as a club to receive government’s support – securing air tickets for the team to travel to Angola on 11th February 2019 to play a CAF group stage match against Atletico Petroleos. We look forward to even more support from the government as we continue to represent the country in such continental assignments,” Sally Bolo, the club’s treasurer stated.
K’Ogalo began their group fixture with a bang after thrashing Egyptian giants Zamalek 4-2 at Kasarani.
Should they get a positive result in Angola come Wednesday, the KPL champions will be in very good position to progress past the group stages
