Government goes after Pastor Ng’ang’a church
Kenya Railways Corporation, has made its intention clear to reclaim the land which Pastor Ng’ang’a Neno Evangelism church sits on.
Kenya Railways claims the parcel of land in question was awarded irregularly by the Commissioner of Lands in around 1994 without the consent of the corporation.
In a letter addressed to the church the corporation wants all documents related to the parcel of land resubmitted.
“You are hereby requested to surrender all documents relating to the irregular allocation of the above referenced property to the corporation,” read the later in part.
The later also noted that the parcel of land along Haile Selassie Avenue was meant for Railway use but it was illegally awarded to a private entity in the previous regime.
“Historical records in our possession indicate that the land bound by Haile Selassie Avenue, Uhuru Highway and Bunyala Road in which various railway infrastructure are contained was reserved for railway use,”
“It has, however, been established that new grants on portions of the land were issued by the Commissioner of Lands in around 1994 without the consent of the corporation.” the letter stated.
