Gor Mahia has no money to honour CAF Confederation Cup away fixture
Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has come out to state that the Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions K’Ogalo have no money to travel to Angola for their CAF group fixture against Petro Atletico.
Over the weekend, K’Ogalo showed their footballing muscles by downing Egyptian giants Zamalek 4-2 in a game played at Kasarani stadium.
Rachier said that the CAF kitty of Ksh 2.7 million has not yet been deposited in Gor Mahia’s bank account hence making their travel plans difficult.
The chairman argues that the only challenge K’Ogalo has is lack of money, since they have shown their footballing muscles and capability to win the trophy.
“We have to concede that among the hindrances to Gor Mahia’s journey in continental competitions is money. The team has proved that with money and support anything is possible,” he said.
