Gengetone is a lost generation- Fred Obachi Machoka

Veteran radio presenter Uncle Fred Obachi Machoka has taken a jibe to the fast rising music in the country Gengetone.

In undated video doing rounds in Social Media the Roga Roga host castigated Gengetone artists as a lost generation who don,t have a sense of music.

Machoka who is a well known lover of Rhumba music noted that Gengetone is a lot of frustrated Kenyan artistes with no direction. He insisted that music should be introduced in the new curriculum from the ECDE level.

” Lakini hii ngoma ya Gengeteno ni Aibu kubwa. In fact it shows how frustrated young Kenyan musicians are. Kama thats the direction hakuna mahali mnaenda. Gengetone is a lost generation ni kama wale watu hawajui what music is. Thats why I think music should be introduced kwanzia Chekechea.” said Machoka.

Machoka joins other key figures in the society who have condemned the content in Gengetone music.

Kenya Films and Classification Board Chairman Ezekiel Mutua has been the biggest critic of the gengetone music. He has been on their neck anytime he felt they aren’t releasing the correct music.

At one time he wrote to Google to pull it down Ethic Entertainment group song ‘Tarimbo from the internet.
