Gatundu North MP risk losing her seat for not resigning as MCA
Gatundu North MP Anne Wanjiku Kibe risk losing her seat after a petiton filled against her for not resigning as an MCA.
Ms Kibe a former nominated Member of Kiambu County Assembly, risk losing her seat after her competitor Clement Waibara filled a petition challenging her win.
The Gatundu lawmaker had been nominated by The National Alliance(TNA) as member of county assembly in 2013.
In the petition Waibara claims that Ms Kibe did not tender her resignation letter before vying for the parliamentary position. Waibara who also sued the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) said that the two knowingly violated the election acts.

He argues that IEBC failed to discharge its official mandate by allowing Kibe to contest for the seat,without following the laid procedure.
The former lawmaker now wants court to declare the Gatundu North parliamentary seat vacant for what he termed as breaching of election laws.
