French Coach to take charge at the Den
Didier Gomes a French international is set to take charge at the den as head coach from May 8th as the current interim boss Denis Kitambi leaves for Bangladesh side.
Gomes who will be the 3rd coach at the club this season after Robert Matano was fired and the departure of Kitambi comes with over 9 years coaching experience.
He is the current coach of Ethiopian Premier league Side,Ethiopia Coffee FC who are placed 5th on the premier league tables with 29 points 4 points behind league leaders Dedebit FC.
Gomes beats Argentine coach Zapata Rodolfo to the top job at the club. The two tacticians had been shortlisted for the job but Leopards settled on Gomes.
Kitambi helped Leopards to move third on 18 team log after securing 4 back to back win which was last witnessed long ago at the den. One loose against Tusker FC and two draws against Nzoia FC and Zoo Kericho. It will also be remembered that its during the reign of Kitambi that ingwee both scored and conceded a lot of goals.
Kitambi is expected to leave Leopards on May 8th for Bangladesh where is expected to link up with former AFC Leopards boss Stewart Hall who is in charge of Saif Sporting Club.
