Kenya Rugby 7s players have had to take to Twitter to expose shocking details of what they were going through due to poor management that made them bow out of the national team.
Two players, Dennis Ombachi and Willy Ambaka exposed how they [rugby players] are left to suffer locally despite enjoying celebrity status internationally.

Dennis Ombachi’s take
Ombachi represented the national team for 10 years and he regrets donning the jersey. He is now based in Russia and regrets representing the national team at the olympic as he can’t compare his status to those of the Olympians in Russia.
Ombachi further alluded that tribalism is another reason for the team not having the best strength and conditioning coach around.

Willy Ambaka’s take
Ambaka first pin-points at the renumeration that is way too little which leaves the players indebted and unable to even pay house rent.
He also lamented on the lack of modern training facilities.
