Former KRA boss quits race to NLC chair
Former Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General John Njiraini has quit the race to become the next National Land Commission chairman.
Njiraini through a letter to the selecting panel rendered his resignation citing his decision to pursue personal interest.
The former KRA boss was among the front runners to succeed the former chair Mohammed Swazuri whose contract came to an end early this year.
“I wish to communicate my decision to withdraw as candidate for the position of Chairperson of the National Land Commission in order to pursue other interests. I wish to thank you and other panel members for having granted me the opportunity to present my ideas on how this important national institution can be transformed through the injection of a fresh leadership dynamic,”read the letter in part.

Njiraini was criticized by netizens after he was shortlisted for the job few days after his retirement at the tax agency.
Many thought it was wise for Njiraini to leave the job for many unemployed youths in the country.
